Civic Engagement


Civic Engagement refers to individual and collective actions designed to identify and address issues of public concern. Basically, Civic Engagement is decision making. It ensures that sovereignty resides with the people. Civic Engagement can take many forms, from individual voluntarism to organizational involvement to electoral participation.

 

What does Civic Engagement look like?

  • Directly addressing a community issue
  • Working with a team to solve a problem
  • Interacting with institutions of representative democracy
  • Participation at the polls
