By every definition, Laurel DeWitt is an artist. Sculpting elaborate crowns and headdresses is her passion. Her trademarked goddess logo is fashioned after the first crown she created, which was featured in the Smithsonian Institute of African Art. Her celebrity clientele includes Shakira, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Kris Jenner, will.i.am, Steve Aoki, Lenny Kravitz, Lady Gaga, among others. Since graduating from Pratt Institute in 2005, the Kingston, New York native created her own niche, metal apparel & accessories, while building a career as a prolific handbag designer for Kenneth Cole Reaction, Juicy Couture, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, to name a few.
Combining the virtuosity of world-class artists with the energy of rock stars, PROJECT Trio is breaking down traditional ideas of chamber music. Blending their classical training with an eclectic taste in musical styles, they make an immediate impact on audiences of all ages. The genre-defying Trio is acclaimed by the press as “packed with musicianship, joy and surprise” and “exciting a new generation of listeners about the joys of classical and jazz music.
Fubuki Daiko reinvents traditional Japanese drumming with their eclectic and energetic performances that are part martial arts athleticism, part meditation, and all rhythm. For over twenty years, they have performed at festivals, concert halls, and schools across North America. Collaborations with a wide range of groups including the Winnipeg Singers, Moses Mayes Family Funk Band, the Northern Plains Ballet, and Ron Paley’s Big Band, have continued to fuel their pursuit of excellence and innovation in this ancient art form.
